Description
Uploaded for Deon, Person, and a couple others. A very extensively tested "radiation" mod that creates "radiation zones" with the press of a button.

Put the two empty raw files in the raw/objects folder, and put the bin folder (as well as its contents) in the same place. DO NOT REMOVE THE CONTENTS FROM THE BIN FOLDER. Also, do not put the raw files (interaction_region_talvmutants.txt, interaction_mutate_talvmutants.txt) in the bin folder either.

To get rid of mutants during worldgen, just delete "interaction_mutate_talvmutants.txt". You only have to do this once. The program won't create a new file.

Will not work on Linux, even under Wine. May or may not work on a Mac.

To gen radiation effects, simply run the *.exe. It's as simple as that.

Radiation effects include, but are most certainly not limited to:
  • Any number of tags (but only the ones that won't ruin your game, i.e. no vampire mutants, no loyalty cascades)
  • Bonuses (or penalties) to all stats (at random, of course)
  • Bleeding, blisters, bruising, impaired function, necrosis, numbness, blood oozing, pain, and/or swelling in various bodyparts
  • chronic cases of coughing blood, dizziness, vomiting blood, drowsiness and/or fever
  • Random changes in the dimensions of a creature (nothing overmuch, just midget/giant dwarves)
  • Random bonuses/penalties to attack/defense
  • Random bonus/penalty to movement speed
A radiation syndrome may have anywhere from five to 25 of the above. However, it generally doesn't get past ten. This provides different interesting ailments for your dwarves.

Note: IT IS POSSIBLE for your dwarves to die by themselves, usually when their lungs start rotting or they bleed out. Survival of dwarven infants is incredibly rare.

WARNING: DO NOT BUILD A HOSPITAL until you are SURE that you have enough dwarves for some of them to be safely immune to the more harmful effects of radiation. When you first place the hospital designation, all of your afflicted dwarves will rush to it, even if they need nothing more than a diagnosis. You may have to reassign some haulers as doctors and put everyone in a burrows to check everyone fast enough. It is very easily possible to get through this without losing a single dwarf, but only if you're prepared.
