Description
This is a launcher for Dwarf Fortress and it's utilities. Please do not upload this file elsewhere. I will provide mirrors if necessary. Read the instructions. If you have a problem and it's obvious that you haven't read the instructions, you will receive no support until you have done so. At this stage of development, the instructions should tell you everything you need to know. PLEASE NOTE: This is a work in progress. I would appreciate bug reports via Email (address at the bottom of this post) with the subject "DFL Bug". Any Emails without this subject WILL NOT BE RECEIVED. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU BACKUP SAVES AND CONFIG FILES BEFORE RUNNING THIS UTILITY. It has been tested but better safe than sorry. It's also good practice to back things up before messing with them. While you're here, please check out this Dwarf Fortress LP: http://www.youtube.com/user/Exoterius Recommended Mod: https://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=5221 Changelog:

The program can be placed anywhere on your PC, it will still run the game and utilities. The first time you run the program you will be asked to set the game directory. Do this by opening the top menu's 'Preferences' area and selecting 'Game Directory'. Click the boxes next to each textbox to set the directory of the utility. You must click 'Apply' for the settings to stick. Run the game/utilities by clicking the appropriate buttons in the main window. Built-in utilities can be accessed by opening the 'Utilities' section of the menu and selecting a utility. Text Editing (for init.txt and d_init.txt): The two text editors work like any other text editor you may have used. Tips:
Backup will backup up the selected config file to *Game Directory*\Backups\Config Files. If a backup already exists, you will be asked if you want to overwrite. Restore will restore a backup of a config file. It will then load the restored file into the text editor. Click 'Save' to, well, save. Saving will overwrite the file so, again, backup the files before using this utility. Save Manager: Save Manager is pretty self explanatory. Rename will rename a save folder, delete will PERMANENTLY delete the save. Backup/Restore doesn't work yet. Default Settings: The 'Default Settings' menu option is self explanatory. It clears all of your settings. Final Notes: Thanks for downloading and enjoy ![]() If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. synystershadows403@googlemail.com |
