Description
Sample battle sound pack for zwei's SoundSense (forum thread)which is a cool "utility" that adds sound to DF, in an interesting manner. This "pack" will add the rules and sound files for combat, both melee and ranged. Do note that this is a "demo", shared for fun. Don't expect it to be updated. If it does, it'll be an accident. As of posting this, I'm using soundsense r7 Installation: 1) Install SoundSense (instructions on homepage or forum thread, links above) 2) Extract contents of this file into the packs directory in soundsense. 3) Start/restart soundsense. Provided you have no other patterns that conflicts with the ones used in this, you will get some sounds the next time some creature fights in DF. Notes: a) You can actually tell how how well the attacks are from the sound, e.g. whether the attack is blocked/deflected/glancing, or whether there is a solid landing, or bones crushed. b) Note that I did not put in "concurrency" parameter to limit the number instances of a sound event. Add that in yourself if you want to limit number of similar melee sounds that can occur at the same time. Changelog: Version 1.2 +added some more variants to same situations (e.g. 2 different sound for the case when strikes are blocked) +added "bashes" to the list of captured melee verbs Version 1.1 +changed melee sounds to shorter versions to make it less intrusive in larger scale combat. Rest unchanged. Version 1.0 +First upload |
