Description
Plant industry Want something more than just food and clothing from your farming experience? Need something else but simply can't have it? Need something, but having the livestock for it would cripple your FPS? If you answer yes to any of these questions or just love modding and adding new flavours to your game I offer you my Plant Industry mod, with it you can now gain from hard farming labour. Even if you don't want to use any of this you can add it to your game and you should never see that plant in the wild ([FREQUENCY:0] is a powerful tag), though dwarves will still have access to the various plant cloths, seeds, alcohols and such (blood wine anyone?). Wood logs Every base metal in the vanilla game version (even admantium, but not steel or pig iron, just plain iron) Silk (thread) Meat (raw) Fat (unrendered) Bones (even the odd chance of a skull) Shells Raw skin (feel free to tan it) Flux (limestone) A sand substitute (have this, fuel and any raw material the glass type typically needs and you can smelt some raw glass) An Ice rat (useless vermin, but put it in a hole for a year or two and when it dies you will find some water left behind) Fish Rock crystals (a handy and cheap gem) Courtesy of specially engineered plants foudn within this mod that react in special ways =P If anyone has ideas to improve the characters of the individual plant types (especially the metal plants) or names please drop a post or pm and if I like it (which I probably will if its good) I'll update the mod and add it. One I'm definetly not sure about is the ice rat mod, Naturally I'll be updating this soon for the next version. Readme: Not much to say here, copy the other text files here and paste them in your objects file That would be your Dwarf Fortress/raw/objects file The plants you utilise for this mod are fairly obvious as any civ will always have access to them on embark and when you see the seeds they should be fairly self-explanatory, if not, have fun. Just note that some of the grow times can be as long as a year, adamantium has the longest grow time being 30 seasons (or 7 and a half years), they should work if you use version v0.28.181.40d of DF anyway. All credit for this work goes to me, but just let me thank the community as I have had inspiration, advice and such contributing to this as well, though this has been alot of failed testing and time on my part (over an even longer time) |
