Description
Red cloaks should look cool and intimidating on a group of fearsome militia dwarves. So why do the goblins giggle when they see your dwarves stumbling marching towards them? It's entirely because red dye is only worth half as much as any other dye, so they think your dwarves are too poor to afford majestic green dye, and too cowardly to obtain intimidating black dye. Red may be the color of imperial might, but in the world of Dwarf Fortress, it's only the color of poverty. This mod solves that problem!

Redroot dye has a material value of 10, while all other dyes have a value of 20. This simply doesn't make sense. Blade weed is available in all non-freezing biomes just like hide root. Dimple cups are available everywhere and are easily farmed underground, requiring no extra building of ceilings to protect the farms. Sliver barbs are only found outdoors in evil biomes, making them very difficult to obtain. Since hide root requires being grown aboveground, which requires building at least ceilings or risking combat, it makes sense to just raise its value to match the other dyes. With all dyes having the same value, you can use whatever color(s) you want.
