- Latest update: Calling this a pre-release. It is NOT compatible with previous versions. I think almost everything is ready and working. Menus are much improved and more human-readable. All fur reactions are working as far as I know and shouldn't interfere with vanilla recipes. I've left in a couple of new furred creatures available on embark for anyone who wants to get straight into trying out the fur mechanics; mink, giant mink, black bear, polar bear and chinchilla (the most valuable fur so far). *v0.21 - forgot to add small creature chinchilla fur drop.
What this adds:
- Pelts as a drop, instead of skin, (rabbits as the domestic option, bears, tigers, lions, chinchilla and more, as some wild options) with custom sprites and the same scaling as my Tanning Redux mod.
- Cured Fur Pelts, made at the tanning shop.
- Fur items, right now they use the same items as vanilla leather working but with new material properties and a different color.
- New fur replacement to vanilla skin/leather (not global, only on selected creatures). Higher insulation/Better bashing resistance, but worse piercing and slashing resistance than leather.
- Decorating items with "trimmed fur", made at the tannery from fur tufts, a new drop from furred creatures, in the place of hair. It should also transfer any material value multipliers with it. Can be used on all leather and cloth clothing items.
To-do/WIP: *some of these may be added post-release
- Custom sprites for fur tufts and trimmed fur strips.
- Colored fur products, varying by creature, same with material values.
- Improve fur specific items to differentiate them more from vanilla leather, in style, armor layer options, and item properties.
- Separate out new fur items into their own item objects and sprite sheet, to minimize save compatibility issues in future updates.
- A few more little tweaks to make it fit in with vanilla as unobtrusively and issue free as possible.
