Description
Adds elves as a playable race. Current features implemented are: -Basic nobility. This means that elves have a functioning military, job order system, bookkeeping, et cetera. -The heartwood shrine. An elf-specific building that generates wood at a fairly slow rate, tied to the woodcutter skill. Can also create wooden hearts to build more heartwood shrines via a reaction tied to the strand extraction skill. -Sunwood and stonewood, unique wood types that are respectively magma-safe and denser than most wood. -Warshaper's and guardshaper's workshops, which create weapons and armor. Each uses the appropriate metalsmithing labor. -The seed shrine gives any embark free access to valuable sun berries and other crops. -Wooden mechanisms. -Metallic wood created by obtaining ores and infusing wood with their essence. Any metal can go through this process. (It's still wood, though, so unless you want platinumwood getting grabbed and turned into copperwood, manage your stockpiles.) Known bugs: -The gauntlets produced by the guardshaper are not marked as right or left, and therefore are useless. Stock up at embark. This is not fixable. -Sunwood is not considered a magma-safe material by the game when building workshops. Installation instructions: Basic -Unzip file. -Replace the raw folder named objects in your dwarf fortress directory with the one you unzipped. Advanced -Unzip file. -Place all files ending in _elfmode.txt into your raw/objects directory. -Replace entity_default.txt with the modded one. -Replace the creature_X files with the ones from this mod if you want grazers fixed*. *this version hasn't messed with the grazer coefficients, so be careful. |
