Demonstartor uploaded for Meph who liked the idea. Includes DF from scratch minimal world and xenomorph raws. Notes I finally figured reproduction out despite the problems above. You still start with only drones and don't need to wait for a queen. 1. Make a queen at a hatchery using a drone. Drone transforms permanently into queen. 2. Spawn larva at a hatchery using a drone. Drone transforms into eggbearer that splits into 32 parts and dies (it didn't to begin with but I felt it should be added to fit the theme). 3. Queen animates eggs. Eggs de-transform into drone larva and are slaughtered. 4. Queen animates these as friendly female and male larva that should spawn drones and overlords at a 7/3 ratio. Repeat as necessary for more larva. Full plan: Castes: Should all castes require upgrade creature e.g. broodling evolution creature to be present on map? Queen - disables ability for others to turn into queens, spawns larva (split + resurrect) -> friendly larva Appearance: Humanoid face, tentacle hair, breasts, wings, arms and hands, 6 legs Larva - just chill there, give birth to drones 8 legs, tentacle mouth Drone - can do reactions that consume drone, can morph at evolution chamber 8 legs, tentacle mouth Overlord/Synapse - required to spawn higher level creatures, who die soon without one on the map 8 legs, flying, immobile, tentacle mouth Broodling - minor warrior, consumes no resources, spawns with pick (pick set to always take cold damage), can equip, dies soon 6 legs, 2 claw arms with grasp, teeth. natural skill in mining Swarmling - minor warrior, fast, consumes few resources, can learn skills (unlike others) 4 legs, 2 claw arms, 2 hands with grasp. others have skill gain modifiers making learning things impossible, this only has that in mining. teeth Speed swarmling - as above but with 2 wings and moves faster Speed swarmling upgrade - immobile creature that transforms swarmlings into speedlings Creepling - spreads creep, minor warrior, dies soon 4 legs, 4 wings, teeth Scourge - minor warrior, fast, consumes few resources, explodes in combat 6 legs, 2 wings, teeth flying scourge upgrade - immobile creature that transforms scourge into flying scourge Metamorph - middling warrior, consumes more resources 4 legs, 4 claw arms, teeth, crest on head stealth metamorph upgrade - immobile creature that transforms metamorphs into creatures that can hide Viper - spits poison, consumes more resources flying viper upgrade - immobile creature that transforms vipers into flying vipers serpentine, 4 claw arms, 4 wings, teeth, crest on head Ravager - massive warrior, consumes enormous amounts of resources 4 legs, 4 blade arms, 2 giant mandibles, crest on head, armor segments armor upgrade - immobile creature that transforms ravagers into armored ravagers Defiler - spell caster, consumes enormous amounts of resources 8 legs, crest on head, tentacle mouth, armor segments infestor upgrade - immobile creature that transforms despoilers into things that can infest parasite upgrade - immobile creature that transforms despoilers into things that can neural parasite toxic upgrade - immobile creature that transforms despoilers into things that can spread toxins psionic fireball upgrade - immobile creature that transforms despoilers into things that can hurl fire Creep spore - dies immediately after splitting into 30 fragments, which then split further into 4 fragments. These emit creep and die. Blood is creep. (these can't initially be put into military, so must be CRAZED instead. This should also cause forever war with everyone else, giving some more excitement) Worldgen mode: 1. "Rampaging xenomorph" civ consisting of the dangerous castes only. Active all seasons 2. Siege enemies (ambush) 3. All creatures spread "goo" (1x/week) -> when walking over this, +10% speed for xenomorphs, -10% speed for others (removed by cleaning self which these creatures do automatically) -> eventually terrain covered in purple creep Fort mode: "Friendly xenomorph" civ, drones (female) at a ratio of 70 to 30 overlords (male, immobile - no fort mode propagation) to 1 other castes (asexual) for racial propagation Never active - no caravans, no migrants Entirely syndrome based economy: Cannot dig, cannot chop wood 5 racial buildings: Hatchery, resorption pool, underground network, evolution chamber, creep colony - Embark with drones - Hatchery can be built from nothing, hatchery reaction: 1 drone -> queen, 1 drone -> spawn larvae (requires queen), evolve other creatures from drones - Resorption pool can be built from nothing, pool reaction: drone -> 20 organic blocks + gas (kills drone) - Underground network requires organic blocks, network reaction: drone -> 1 mineral/wood/silk of choice + gas (kills drone) - Evolution chamber: drone -> immobile upgrade creature (infects others with permissive syndrome) - Creep colony: drone -> creep spore |
