At the F1 hotkey, notice the constructed floors marked for removal at the edge of the volcano. Try building anything (workshops, constructions, etc.) nearby them and notice the "Blocked" description. Soldiers sent to station in this area idle with "Unreachable destination." This area was briefly flooded with magma; in fact I believe if you have temperature turned on it will catch fire again.
