Description
The world has ended in 2012 after all.
Strange plagues hit Japan killing almost everyone. The survivors are forced to flee from the dead fish with metal legs coming out of the sea. The country side seems unaffected by the plague but maybe the rumors of strange monsters, vampires, talking animals, dead men returning to life and the cult of spiral are true? CREATURES AND MONSTERS * - safe, civilians should deal with them with no problem ** - militia required *** - dangerous, soldiers with guns or armoured warriors needed **** - avoid at all cost elderitch monstrosities [class: outer] **** Color Out Of Space: An amorphous, glistening patch of color, rolling and shining in shades of its pale colors that match nothing in the known spectrum. This patch pours over the ground or flies in a living fashion. Beware its touch of a slimy, unhealthy vapor! ** Dark Young: These beings are enormous writhing masses, formed out of ropy black tentacles. Here and there over the surfaces of the things are great puckered mouths which drip green goo. Beneath the creatures, tentacles end in black hooves, on which they stamp. The monsters roughly resemle trees in silhouette - the trunks being the short legs, and the tops of the trees represented by the ropy, branching bodies. The whole mass of these things smell like open graves. folklore beings [class: yokai] ** Funayurei: The ghosts of people who have died at sea. *** Wanyudo: "Wanyudo" or wheel monk is a supernatural being which took form of a burning oxcart wheel bearing the tormented face of a man. Fear his curse! * Kamaitachi: Kamaitachi is a supernatural being bearing the look of a weasel with sharp claws, riding on a gust of wind and cutting people's skin on the legs. * Kawauso: Kawauso is a supernatural being bearing the look of a river otter. They enjoy stealing things and leaving small gifts for people to find. *** Heikegani: Supernatural being that took the form of a crab. Heikegani are reincarnations of the spirits of the Heike warriors defeated at the battle of Dan-no-ura. animals [class: general] * Dugong: Resembling an overweight dolphin, dugongs are actually more closely related to the elephant. Its intestine is extraordinary large, thick as a fire hose and stretches some 30 meters long. * Japanese Macaque: A medium-sized monkey sometimes known as the snow monkey from the fact that it lives in areas where snow covers the ground for months each year. * Japanese Dormouse: A small vermin living in the temperate forests. Among dormice, it has the special ability of running at great speed upside down, suspended from branches. *** Giant Crab: A huge shelled ocean creature with many long legs. With its two large pincers it can easily crush a horse. Hit them in the weak spots for massive damage! death stench creatures [class: gyo] ** Fish Gyo: Bizarre contraption consisting of the carcass of a dead fish being strapped on top of a small metallic, legged structure. horrors [class: junji] ** Headless Sculpture: Headless sculptures made of marble - animated by an unknown source. ** Animated Head: Chopped off head connected with animated hair. *** Intersection Fortune Telling Victim: Victims of the intersection's pretty boy. Even though they killed themselves with an utility knife, they still are looking for fortune telling. ** Hungry Mother: Mad women with spiral mosquito-induced pregnancy who now need blood to feed their babies. *** Deserter: Japanese deserters who have comitted suicide during war are now returning to deal with traitors and enemies. Many castes, equiped with many kinds of weapons including rusty pistols, military swords and rifles. spiral victims [class: uzumaki] * Twisted Abomination: To some, the mesmerizing pull of spirals is so great that they themselves desire to become one with them. This process is both painful and terrifying and yet wonderous to those in the grip of madness. To others, however, becoming a spiral thrall starts simply out of survival. As the powers of Uzumaki manifest ever stronger, humanoids that band together find safe shelter harder to find. Out of desperation even good beings may begin to deny entry to wayfarers, hoard food for themselves and develop a mob mentality. These like-minded groups of individuals don't even realize until it's too late that they have become uncaring thralls who are wound around each other like a ball of vipers. * Snail Men: A sad fate awaits the lethargic or those who tire themselves wandering on the fringes of Uzumaki's influence. 'Snail People' are humanoids who have slowed down enough to be snared by Uzumaki, and thus are reformed into a more fitting shape - that of a generic snail. *** Twister Rider: Controlling the heavy air those selfish creatures will send everyone flying - foes and allies alike. ** Medusa: Uzumaki bores into the minds of all within his spiral and his influence can rattle even the kindest humanoids. Spiral medusas are nothing more than these unnerved unfortunates suddenly cursed with very, VERY long hair spun into large spiraling patterns over their heads. Sadly, those that would rather not accept this gift find themselves unable to refuse - as their hair turns upon them at the first sign of rebellion. Thus, spiral medusas unwillingly (or proudly!) go about their daily lives while their hair hypnotises all who gaze upon their spiraling patterns. * Spiral Mosquito: An previously unknown breed of mosquitos, famous for their spiral pattern on the wings. |
