My lord,

I hope this message reaches you as we are currently under siege! Unfortunately my man in the military was once again killed in the interceding time since I last wrote you. This repeatable losing of minions has left some of my more distant contacts to be much less helpful over the long run. Someone has sabotaged the farming level flooding many rooms that are no longer reclaimable. I did convince however many of the dwarfs to remove the few tattered remains of clothing and start using some of the better garments. This has led to a much better appearance but also a catalyst for the clothing workers to finally have something to do other than drink. I have had limited success in the grand water defense and it has been slightly moved forward but much more exciting is the fact that I have created an arena to start removing the scores of caged goblins and trolls. I also took the time to start replacing that shoddy dirt walls of the fort with stones. Perhaps now that the plebs are not naked and rolling in dirt we can start elevating them up to something properly dwarfy.

I have continued to delve deeper in search of "A" but have not struck any yet. I will notify you when the first handful is pulled from the ground.
