pretty much the same description as ctrlfrk and spey in the "Topic: [38c] Magma buildings not enabled " forum except that my map did have the magma buildings enabled when i started and a giant bat then proceeded to kill the seven dwarves forcing me to restart, to reclaim i started with 42 dwarves and proceeded to stuff up the starting gear so i aborted the embark page and tried again, this time there were only seven dwarves. so i deleted the "current" folder in the save subdirectory and tried again - got the full 42 dwarves. built a pretty good fortress only to find that i couldn't build any magma buildings
