Description
I made this world myself with the world painter, then edited race specs and world specs a lot until I got an acceptable result. My goal was to have a world that's mean, has some actual history (at least 1K years), but at the same time has plenty of diversity to toy around with - large populations of dwarves so you can make fortresses that fall apart without making a real dent, multiple civilizations of goblins, humans, elves, and even kobolds, while still having mythical beasts around. For this I edited humans to be more aggressive, dwarves to be more offensive, goblins to be a little calmer and less reproductive (they are not immortal anymore) As an actual dwarf fortress player you will not see a noticeable difference in the way goblins behave, stay assured, the goblins will still besiege you. I just wanted them not to genocide everyone else by the year 500. For this matter I also reduced necromancer population as well. The world is in general a lot meaner, lots of beasts, lots of demons, were-creatures, and plenty of war to go around (Humans will go to war with you!). There's even active kobold civilizations. there's lots more of evil and good biomes to go around as well. I designed it around an evil fjord, turning into a sea. Settling on an island is not going to make things easy, plenty of undead whales. Although I wanted to make this world more fun in general, there's also some settings to make things a little easier. I like for the carnage to get started up really fast, so metal and minerals are far more common, and there are MANY volcanoes for easy/fast magma access and in order to have volcanoes present in biomes where you perhaps didn't experience them before. If you want an evil glacier volcano, here's your chance. I did play a bit on this world. Some world stats: ~ 10K dwarves 2 Dwarven civilizations but one is nearly dead, you should play as Urns of dancing (10K dwarves in it) 4300 goblins. I have seen them led by dwarves and other species. 240 elves (not much sadly) 197 kobolds 3000 humans. An immense part of the map is mountains. Mountains cover maybe one third of the map. In an effort to have more elves, I also increased the numbers of large forests, but they got curb stomped anyway. Stupid knife ears. I designed some valleys and hidden groves in some mountains. Like islands, you shouldn't expect many visits if you settle there. But there is an option for it. We still are in the age of myth. Also when I wrote kobolds my browser tried to correct the spelling to cuckolds |
