Description
This mod seeks to transform the world of Dwarf fortress into one more similar to the Bronze age of both history and myth.

It removes iron and steel, but also adds new bronze-derived metals, meteoric iron, cloth armor, the ability to create stone tools and weapons from knapped stone, changes to dwarven ethics, and a few changes to existing metals.

This file also contains 3 sub-mods: one adds the ability to play as humans in fortress mode, the second gives human strange moods, and the 3rd includes the new creatures and sprites (it's separate for WIP reasons but it will be included in the main file at some point).

It might be incompatible with mods that edit metallic materials or substantially modify the dwarven entity.

All sprites are credited to Pl4ttenbau.

Future plans: more sprites for weapons and armor, new creatures, removing crossbows and transforming them into bows, plant rework.

Full list of features:
  • Removal of Iron and Steel.
  • Added phosphor, a metal that can be alloyed with bronze to create phosphor bronze. Can also be used to glaze, make dyes, and fertilizer.
  • Added Phosphor Bronze, a slight improvement to bronze that is exclusive to dwarves.
  • Bismuth-Zinc bronze, an inefficient way to create bronze without tin.
  • All bronzes can be used to make anvils, with bismuth and phosphor bronze making magma save anvils
  • No silver weapons.
  • Weapons and tools can be made with obsidian or sharpened stone.
  • Gauntlets can be made with leather, allowing full leather coverage.
  • Meteoric iron is added, but cant be used for weapons or armor except for daggers.
  • Quilt linothorax, cloth armor for your Mycenaean larping needs.
  • Changes to dwarven and human ethics, both are more willing to kill civilians in wars, and dwarves are now ok with slavery.
  • Nerf to cave dragon (for balance reasons).

The creature and sprites submod adds:
  • Pegasi.
  • Manticores.
  • Lamassu.
  • New sprites for axes and daggers.
  • New weapon: the khopesh.

Patch 1.1: Pegasus added, new axe sprites, leather gauntlets, cave dragon nerfs, bismuth-zinc bronze reaction, some file commenting, togas are more common, quilt armor should now be storable in stockpiles that allow Armor made of Cloth, phosphor bronze rebalanced.

Patch 1.2:
