Literally just embarked on an area which i knew had a hydra. Got a decent spot slightly away from the hydra. If you want a save which hasn't been embarked on yet, pm me on bay12 or you can grab the seed and just remake it, although i don't think the hydra is likely to spawn in the same spot.
If all you want a different starting lineup, just abandon and reclaim it.
Decent amount of hemtatite (iron) & lignite (easy to use coal) both within first 10 z levels, right next to each other.
3 very nice cavern areas with almost no water, so easy to try and catch some GCS/Cave dragons.
Silver is also close to the surface.
Gold is a lot further down (past the 2nd cavern i think)
Magma is really far down (z-94ish) is the only disadvantage.

I am using Phoebus graphic pack. So if you want to use a different set of graphics, i suggest removing all the raws from the save and replacing them with your graphics as well as in the dwarf fortress raws.
