This is an awesome map.

Bonus points as two of the civs are at war with elves, and ALL civs are accessible from this spot, including ever annoying goblins. Watch out for the harpies...

But everything is so easily accessible... there's exposed coal and there's magnetite EVERYWHERE, so it's not hard to focus on a military and still easily be able to reel in all the resources you could need.

Goblins just took out my four budding military dwarves, but my three war dogs chased them away? The dogs took out one goblin, and they decided it was enough. Until seconds later, a second ambush left me crippled, because I had to send every useless peasant I could at them, and a couple turned out to be pretty critical...

It's fun to lose!
